We recommend returning the car a bit before your reservation ends. This gives you enough time to inspect and photograph the vehicle properly.
In busy areas, be prepared for possible delays in finding a suitable parking spot.
Follow the steps below to complete your return:
1. Refuel the tank fully
Always fill the fuel tank to full just before returning the car, and keep the receipt.
2. Park correctly at the instructed location
Always park the car at the instructed address and in compliance with traffic regulations.
If you need to return the car to a different location, you must call customer service in advance to agree on the change.
Note: Sometimes traffic arrangements may cause the car to be parked unusually when you pick it up, but this does not justify repeating an incorrect parking during return.
3. Inspect and photograph the vehicle
Use the damage checklist on m.24rent.fi, the mobile app, or via SMS to inspect the car again at the end of your reservation.
Report any new damages through any of these channels.
Always take full photos of the car from all sides, even if no new damage is visible.
4. Clean the vehicle and gather your belongings

Turn off the headlights and interior lights.

Remove all personal items.

Shake out the floor mats.

Remove loose trash and clean any stains from the cabin and luggage space.

Return any car documents, snow brushes, or sack trucks to their proper places.

Do not take any of the car’s documents with you.
5. Return the keys
Place the keys in the designated location, or as instructed separately in your email. Do not lock the doors with the key! If you do, the next customer won’t be able to access the vehicle.
6. Close and lock the vehicle

Make sure all doors and windows are properly closed.

Follow the instructions and lock the doors via m.24rent.fi, the mobile app, or by SMS.

Check that the doors lock correctly and ensure that the vehicle lights turn off within 10 seconds (no need to worry about dashboard lights).
7. Confirm proper parking
After locking, walk back from the vehicle to the nearest traffic sign to confirm the car is parked correctly.
If the car is not parked according to the instructions or traffic rules—or if you forgot something inside—you can still reopen the doors via m.24rent.fi, the mobile app, or SMS.
If you cannot use m.24rent.fi for any reason, you may also end your reservation via SMS.
